Before leaving for Mumbai, Rohit Akhouri participated in numerous singing competitions at the state level in which he was highly acknowledged and comprehended. He went to Mumbai in the year 2008 where he received the opportunity to confront one of the leading lyricists of Hindi music industry Shri Faaiz Anwaar, Rohit vocalized the song “Parda hai Parda” from the movie "Amar Akbar Anthony'' Which highly impressed Faaiz Anwaar Sahab. Afterwards, Rohit had to go through a tough audition round in front of Faaiz Anwaar and Music Director Jogeey Ghosh. During these auditions, Rohit's voice was tested on a variety of songs. Ultimately Rohit was able to strive the audition successfully. Faaiz Anwaar signed a contract with Rohit after which Rohit Akhouri's debut “Music Album” named as “Kai Khwahishein” was released in 2010. This album gig was highly appreciated by the audience, this musical album was also comprehended by the legendary and two times Filmfare awarded music director Ravi Shankar Sharma. He quoted the voice of the Rohit Akhouri as a ‘Breath of Fresh Air After a long time’, which is illustrated in the music album.
